Kate, Founder and Clinical Director for Center for Psychological Wellness P.C., is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois with over 17 years of experience providing individual, couples, and family therapy. Kate attended Loyola University in Chicago and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Illinois School of Professional Psychology and completed a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology.

Carmen T. Adams, MSW, LCSW
Carmen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 26 years of experience, working in various clinical settings. She has worked in a residential treatment setting as well as a Family Based Child Welfare Agency. More recently, she has worked in a hospital and two different psychiatric private practices. Carmen received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Northern Illinois University before obtaining a Master of Social Work Degree from Jane Addams College of Social Work -University of Illinois at Chicago, with a concentration in Child and Family studies.
Carmen believes this education and related work experience has afforded her the ability to appreciate the therapeutic partnership and respect a client’s right to self-determination. She works at helping individuals learn to recognize they can be their own agent of change toward an improved life experience.
Carmen uses a humanistic approach while also utilizing psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy in a variety of ways. Conditions treated include Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Trauma, Relationship problems, Life Transitions, ADHD, Parenting struggles, Grief/Loss, Anger, and Stress.

Clint Zavakos MA, LCPC
Clint is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with eleven years of experience in the behavioral health field. He has worked as a therapist in private practice as well as in an intensive outpatient treatment center. He received his undergraduate B.A. in Psychology from Purdue University before obtaining a Masters in Counseling from Argosy University.
Clint is a believer that effective therapy is a collaborative effort between the client and the therapist, and that healing is achieved by working together. He believes in taking an integrative approach to therapy where he tailors the treatment to fit the needs of the client. Clint is trained in EMDR therapy for trauma treatment and believes in the importance of trauma informed care. Clint is Gottman level 2 certified for couples work, which utilizes techniques to build closeness and develop positive ways to manage conflict.
Clint has worked with clients from diverse backgrounds, supporting them with overcoming issues related to PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, relationship difficulties and addiction. He believes any trauma is deserving of attention and care and strives to provide an environment where you feel safe and free to open up.

Marci Mazza MA, LPC
Marci is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has worked in various settings over the years. She has worked extensively in higher education
for the past 18 years helping people with life and career transitions. She also experience in hospital settings, foster care, and domestic violence. Marci received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Loyola University in Psychology before obtaining her Master of Science in Human Services Counseling from National Louis University.
Marci believes in embracing a client-centered approach to form a genuine relationship with each of her clients. As the relationship progresses in a safe and non-judgmental environment, Marci believes each client will find the power from within to heal and grow.
Marci is committed to providing a pathway for clients to reach their goals and improve their overall quality of life. Each client is unique in his or her needs. Therefore, she believes in leveraging the theory and therapeutic technique that will be most helpful in creating a positive outcome. Marci uses the Humanistic, Person-Centered, and Family Systems approach theory and techniques in her approach.
Marci is currently accepting clients via Telehealth and has availability during the week in evening and weekend hours as well.
